DATA-VERSE Taipei 02

In our age of data overload and information explosion, the information that rampantly flows through the Internet has turned into an intangible system. The artwork, Data-Verse Taipei 02, created by the artist collective, 2ENTER seeks to visualize an abundance of data by capturing images and information related to various districts in Taipei that are circulating on the Internet, which are then integrated to form an enormous virtual map. Through the convergence of information, human geography, natural landscapes, socioleconomic dynamics, and everyday activities related to Taipei appear randomly on the screen as the virtual camera pans across.

At the same time, various real-time information found on the Internet, such as traffic updates, weather conditions and trending searches are captured and used as parameters to influence the different objects seen on the screen. These objects interact with each other in the form of physical collision and information exchange, resulting in a digital ecosystem that resembles a rhizome. The artist collective blends together visible and invisible information in this space, interpreting the behaviors and the state of the urban group network of Taipei as a matrix revealed.
