The Taoyuan Children's Art Center, under the Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts, has curated the exhibition "Reimagining the Children's Encyclopedia," inspired by Echo Children’s Encyclopedia. The exhibition invites the art collective 2ENTER to create works envisioning the future. Their piece, "Frontier -Builder," draws inspiration from the space-themed chapters of Echo Children’s Encyclopedia to craft a futuristic urban transportation system—a fantastical virtual world constructed through extensive data and real-time computation.

The December theme of Echo Children’s Encyclopedia, "The Future," once explored various future inventions, such as video calls, remote education, robotic vacuum cleaners, underground stations, and driverless cars—many of which have now become reality. Its future visions often focused on space migration and interplanetary exploration, imagining realms beyond Earth. Forty years later, the internet has evolved into a world deeply intertwined with our daily lives, much like a mirror reflecting our existence.

While aspirations for space colonization persist, 2ENTER prompts us to consider a different question: Could the internet itself become the new frontier for colonization? With the global advancement of semiconductors, Taiwan—situated within the technological island chain—has become a fertile ground for the creation of an expansive AI universe. This "virtual cosmos," powered by artificial intelligence models and real-time online computation, serves as both an experimental platform and an imaginative space for artists to explore and envision the future.
